The Outpatient Department for Infectious Diseases, Travel Medicine & Hepatology on Ponavka 2 Str. in Brno arose for other secure of infectious diseases prevention, diagnostics and therapy at 6th January 2003. It was built because some contemporary medical departments in our town and region provide a part of this health care but patient´s waiting time is long and unbearable.
Many medical branches intervene to our specialization according to system „everyone do everything“ but this situation is always at the expense of quality, damage of national and patient´s coffers. Finally the patient is in low water. The most suitable for patient is so that he would be sended on specialized workplace of our type in indicated subject.
Our department creation is in harmony with present world trend of infectious diseases treatment. This trend recommends maximum changeover from clinical health care to highly qualified ambulatory health care as patient will have certain comfort. Naturally all have to be performed with harmony of so far valid legislative. Minimum of infectious diseases in our conditions require hospitalization according to our legislative. They are mainly imported diseases.
